              Term "Renju" (string of pearls) under the legend has chosen the first permanent Мeijin Japan Goraki Тokoyama, however, in the Big Japanese Encyclopedia was written, that the given name was offered the expert on poetry Tenry Kobayashi in 1899. Probably, such poetic image at him has arisen because, that five stones in a line have reminded him a thread of pearls. Besides to win in Renju at times as it is difficult as well as to find a pearl cockleshell on a sea-bottom!...

To the first Мeijin World League Renju began  Alexandr Suslov. Congratulations!   The first Мeijin-sen tournament under the version 17х17 is completed. Having gained 7 victories and having made one drawn game Alexander Suslov (Moldova) has won first place. At all on many from him Victor Barykin (Russia) - 2 place (6 victories, 1 drawn game and only 1 loss) has lagged behind. 3 place has occupied Gabyouan Syuzin (Japan) - (4 victories, 4 losses).    Interview to the first Meijin

                        

                           On pulse of events

15х15  11-th world championship PBeM World Championship 2006. Has started March, 6, 2006. It is finished. Commercial tournaments WRL are planned.   17х17 The first Мeijin-sen tournament is completed. Application forms for participation in 2-nd Мeijin-sen tournament WRL.Debyute are accepted has appointed the first Мeijin Alexander Suslov. The beginning began selection stages November, 30, 2006.   19х19  Application forms for participation in 1-st Мeijin-sen tournament WRL the Beginning of selection stages November, 30, 2006 are accepted.
